Summary

Joins the lines of two datasets based on a common field.

Description

This tool joins the lines of two datasets based on a common field. It is possible to keep the lines of the first dataset that do not match the second dataset.

General comments (Warning/Tips)

If your data is not tab-delimited, use Text Manipulation→Convert.

An empty string (“”) is not a valid identifier.

!! Do not use this tool to join more than 20 000 lines!!

Input

  • Join: select the first input file
  • using column: select the column of the first input file you want to compare
  • with: select the second input file
  • and column: select the column of the second input file you want to compare
  • Keep lines of first input that do not join with second input: select the desired option
    • Yes
    • No
  • Keep lines of first input that are incomplete: select the desired option
    • Yes
    • No
  • Fill empty columns: select the desired option
    • Yes
    • No

Output

The tab-delimited output contains the joined lines of the two input datasets. Note that the matching values will be displayed twice in the output.
